Life Saving Award, Simmons & Lee

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security recently recognized two deputies for their life saving actions during an extremely difficult rescue.

A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.

Recently several of our local First Responders were recognized by Indiana Department of Homeland Security for their life saving actions during an extremely difficult rescue that occurred on on June 23rd of this year. A individual had fallen off the off the side of a cliff at the Fern Cliff Nature preserve sustaining serious injuries. Emergency personnel from several different agencies converged on the area and worked interminably to rescue the patient from the challenging location.
